I do enjoy my first time here. Coffee was delicious but their restrooms are very user unfriendly.

Old school San Francisco coffee shop. First Espresso shop west of the Mississippi a lot of history here. You'll find locals that are regulars and you can take a moment & enjoy North Beach. Cash only, quick drink service.

Famous old school beatnik hang I've been to many times over many decades with many friends into the arts! They make stellar traditional Italian coffee drinks here , strong , no skimping you will enjoy. Then go around the corner to City lights books for the anarchist in you. Major historical staple of San Francisco!

Cute coffee place, a fun thing to do as a tourist since there is so much history. I got the iced cappuccino and it was great!

9/16/24 After Alcatraz, we checked out Caffe Trieste for coffee and snacks. This place is iconic. They had some live music when we were there which was fantastic. I got their cream puffs which were delicious while hubby got some other pastry that was on the healthier side. The cafe Americano I got was solid. Hubby's espresso was really good. The only complaint I have is that they only take cash. #PichetteChronicles #travelchronicles #sanfranciscocalifornia

Honestly, chatGPT told me this is the perfect pick me up coffee place and when we finally got here after a long day of walking a local atanding on the corner said "this truly is the best coffee in all of San Francisco, welcome!" I got an ice cappuccino and it truly was delicious. Just really great deep rich espresso. You know a coffees good when it looks like my picture! (Pro tip- walk down the street to The Stinking Rose and have the non coffee lover order a drink and sit on the street for a great view and people watching)

4.5 stars! I really enjoy coming to this little gem of a place after I eat across the way at El Farolito. If they had better coffee, they'd get a 5 from me. The service is hit or miss. Either you'll get some super lovely guy in glasses who likes to speak in a fake Italian accent (in an adorable way) or you get a super grumpy hipster kid who doesn't want to be there, pained to muster up a "have a nice day." The cheesecake is TO DIE FOR and the seating and table space is good for a little San Francisco shop. Love to play backgammon and make art here. They've got that much table room!

While in San Francisco, we explored Little Italy. As we searched for a good Italian coffee. This Gem of a coffee shop was highly recommended to us by a near by shop owner. We were so pleased with a AMAZING cappuccino served in the perfect sized mug. The flavor was great. Left my taste buds wanting more of this amazing coffee. This place is full of life, kind staff and a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed our cup of happiness at the outdoor seating. Coming from Seattle the city of coffee Caffe Trieste was GREAT a must try!

Cafe Trieste in North Beach is a San Francisco staple with an old-school Italian vibe. The espresso is top-notch--rich and bold, just how it should be. Their cappuccinos are creamy, and the pastries are a perfect match for the coffee. It can get busy and a bit slow at times, but the classic feel and great coffee make it worth the visit. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop for an authentic coffee experience.
